Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, is embroiled in a war with Austria and needs the resourceful master thief to infiltrate the besieged city of Prague before Austrian support troops arrive. "1700s Bohemia comes to life in a manner that keeps readers both engaged and educated by a story that follows one notable man's choices and struggles. Historical fiction collections should consider King of Thieves a notable acquisition for its vivid re-creation of the times"

"The description of 18th century Prussia brings a “you are there” immediacy. Well told, using historical and family research"
